Happy Birthday!

Just a quick post to share the birthday card I made for Matthew this week.  Manly cards are always a little more difficult for me as they do not lend themselves to flowers and ribbon!  I went with the papers from My Mind’s Eye, sentiment and image from Unity Blossom Stackers, and some washi tape from Michaels.

And be sure to check out my Stamps For Sale – I’m sure you need some of them!!  I recently added several new sets to the list, be sure to look for them!

RCC85 – Back to School!

Are you ready for a brand new monthly challenge???

This is the last month with our current DT!!!! So let’s play along and have some fun with them.

Some kiddos have already gone back to school in August, but in September everything is back in full swing! Kids go back to school and mamas get more stamping time!

This month the theme is BACK TO SCHOOL!

So what  prize is up for grabs? How about a Ribbon Carousel?!

Each month we are giving away a Ribbon Carousel to one of our randomly chosen challenge participants!

Just a reminder that our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates have divided up into FOUR teams.  Each week you will see fresh projects for this month’s challenge!

There are three rules to be eligible for the prize:

1.  You MUST use ribbon or twine on your creation.

2. Your project must be based on the theme of the month.

3. You must add  a NEW project  to the inlinkz below and link directly back to your project on your blog or online gallery.

So I don’t really have any school themed stamps – mostly because I homeschool my kids right now and don’t really have a use for them.  I do have a lot of teacher friends though!  And truthfully, I would just like them to know I am thinking of them as they return to school this year.  Here is my nod to my teacher friends – I am thinking of all of you!

I haven’t been online or in my stamp space much lately as I had PRK this month.  The upside, I no longer need glasses!  The downside, I still don’t see very well yet and I am so sensitive to light!  I cannot look at my computer for very long at all.   But it all gets a little better every day!

RCC84 – Summertime Fun!

Hi fellow crafters! Are you ready for a brand new monthly challenge???

This month we are looking for some Summertime Fun!

At least the northern hemisphere is in summer mode, although some areas are unseasonably cool right now. We hope our Southern hemisphere friends can play along as well and think happy summer thoughts!

To get a summer feel for my card today I went for BRIGHT!  To me that spells out summer fun.  I chose Peaceful Wildflowers from My Favorite Things.  To get a simple, clean look I inked the stamp up using makers and just layered it with a small black edge.  Then highlighted the bright colors with some washi tape from Michael’s.  Super easy and fun!

Since my youngest son wanted to stamp along with me this evening – he decided to follow the theme as well!  Using some stamps from Paper Smooches, he came up with this card – all by himself!!  (he wanted me to say that I did make the grass for him using a die from MFT.)

RCC83 – Celebrate!

This month we are looking to celebrate your Heritage, show your country pride and celebrations. In the US the 4th of July is coming up right around the corner, so you may be seeing lots of red, white and blue. Since this is an all month celebration, what other colors are there?

So I didn’t really have any patriotic stamps…..so I kinda got red, white and blue (or red, teal and cream….same thing, right?!?)  Anyway, it works!  I tried a sketch challenge I found on Pinterest, but I don’t really think it worked all that well.  I may have to try it again later.  This one uses My Mind’s Eye papers, Spellbinders Nestabilities, and image from Everything Wonderful by Unity.

Ribbon Carousel Blog Hop – Challenge 81

This month we are celebrating the Ribbon Carousel’s second anniversary! Hence this month’s challenge! What are you celebrating; birthdays, graduations, weddings, babies, anniversaries, retirement?

What is this month’s theme?

CELEBRATIONS!

So what  prize is up for grabs? How about a Ribbon Carousel?!

Each month we are giving away a Ribbon Carousel to one of our randomly chosen challenge participants!

I chose Mother’s Day for my celebration – since it is this weekend!  I chose to do something a little clean cut – mostly using dies.  I did use a sentiment from A Muse, but the rest was just white cardstock and some patterened papers.  I like piecing these together, it’s kind of like a puzzle.  The boys liked it so much, they decided to make them too!  Of course it has a little ribbon on it – I adore the seam binding.  It always gives an elegant finish to everything.

Ribbon Carousel Birthday Blog Hop!

Hey everyone! It’s our 2nd Birthday today and we are celebrating with a Blog Hop! This is no ordinary Blog Hop. Our amazing Crew has gathered up AMAZING prizes totalling over $750 just for YOU!  It’s our way of saying THANK YOU for all of your support these past two years!

I have two fantastic prizes to share with you guys!  First up, a little artwork and then PRIZES!  Remember, the more you comment, the more chances you have to win!

I made these cute cards for my niece, Kate.  I had already made a pirate version for her sister and was looking forward to some really girly ones for Kate.  It’s fun to indulge the girly side of myself making things for my nieces – the boys are not into pink all much.

I used some older papers I found in a file, JustRite monogram stamps and two kinds of fabulous May Arts ribbon to finish them off!

Now for the PRIZES!

First up is a prize from May Arts! They are giving away 3 rolls of ribbon OF YOUR CHOICE!  Who doesn’t LOVE ribbon?!?

And the second prize being given away here is a stamp set from Sin City Stamps!!  They have some gorgeous images there – really fantastic stuff!!

Ribbon Carousel – Showers and Flowers

With the start of the new term, our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates have divided up into four teams this term to give our fans and participants more beautiful artwork to be inspired by.  The first Tuesday of each month a new challenge will begin.  Each week, we will show off fabulous projects. It is still a monthly challenge, so the winner will be picked and announced the Monday before the next monthly challenge begins.

This month’s theme is…

Showers and Flowers

I decided to go with a wedding *shower* feel for my card.  I figured we are close to wedding season and surely I’ll need a card for a shower at some point.  Or someone will anyway.  I used a sentiment from Tami Mayberry’s Block Greetings as the focal point.  Then I used a few images and dies from the Unity set Blossom Stackers and the coordinating Blossom Tags and Accents from Spellbinders.  The paper is from Prima’s Fairy Belle collection.  I even broke out some felt for one of the layers.   Of course – it’s finished off with ribbon!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Just a quick post to share my Valentine for Matthew.  We are NOT big on Valentine’s Day – like besides cards and sharing a box of truffles, we don’t do anything for it.  I’d prefer to celebrate days that are special to us as a couple than generic ones.

I did get a few minutes earlier this week to make a card for him though – I had been slacking off on making cards for my own family lately.  But I purchased this stamp from Unity just for this purpose!  I adore gnomes and all that goes with them – this just screamed gnome-i-ness to me! I paired it with some great paper from My Mind’s Eye that I picked up from Ribbon Carousel.

I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day with your loved ones!

Birthday, Winner, etc.

I apologize for not posting the winner of the Unity stamp right away – time just got away from me this week!  Anyway, I’ll get right to that first thing today.  So according to the random number generator, here’s the winner of the stamp:

  • Heidi L

I’m hoping it’s the wrong date and I still have a chance to win! Wonderful verse to remember. I like your card. Very pretty paper.

I’ll send you an email and get it out to you!

I also had a quick birthday card for someone turning 16 who happens to like pirates…..

I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!
