Happy Valentine’s Day!

Just a quick post to share my Valentine for Matthew.  We are NOT big on Valentine’s Day – like besides cards and sharing a box of truffles, we don’t do anything for it.  I’d prefer to celebrate days that are special to us as a couple than generic ones.

I did get a few minutes earlier this week to make a card for him though – I had been slacking off on making cards for my own family lately.  But I purchased this stamp from Unity just for this purpose!  I adore gnomes and all that goes with them – this just screamed gnome-i-ness to me! I paired it with some great paper from My Mind’s Eye that I picked up from Ribbon Carousel.

I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day with your loved ones!

And be sure to check out my Stamps For Sale – I’m sure you need some of them!!

Enjoy!

Gina K Blog Hop – Day 3!

For the final day of our Inspiration Blog Hop, I have my very favoritest set to share with you.  Well, I have two sets to share with you.  But one is just the BEST STAMP SET EVER! I think you all know which one that is!

First I will share two versions of a CAS card I made using the latest Buy 3 Get 1 FREE stamp set, Various Verses.  This is a great, versatile set – as always!  Gina does a great job of making these sets a perfect-for-any-occasion stamp set.  And this one is no exception!  I did simple one layer cards with an embossed nestability to outline the image.  I love that look as it makes a one layer card look very elegant.  I believe I like the the one with the words in color, but you can see both options and decide for your self!

Version 1:

Version 2:

And now for the BEST STAMP SET EVER!  Tami Mayberry designed a set with a GNOME!  Now you can see why this would be the best stamp set for me!  I love gnomes!  I think I have about 30 different gnomes outside my house.  I have seen Gnomeo & Juliet, I already own my own copy of it, and I love gnomes!  You can find Gnome One Like You already for sale, so run over and get yours now!  I used Pink Paislee’s Hometown Summer, some prima flowers, and Copic markers for this card.  I modeled this little guy after some tiny gnomes that sit on my porch…There’s Gnome One Like You!

A Gnome Saga part 4

You can find the rest of the Gnome Saga {HERE}!

Well….the trauma is great this time.  Now both the Texas Longhorns gnomes AND the Nebraska Cornhusker gnome have been attacked.  In a most brutal way.  I’ll just share the photo….

gnome-saga-4-3-09

My SIL is an OSU fan….and she arranged this little attack on all our gnomes.  Revenge is needed in a big way!

A Gnome Saga – part 3

Well….the Texas gnomes have struck again.  And this is going to require some serious retribution.  I mean, really!  This is just plain wrong! I am going to have to think very hard about what my response to this will be….(You can find the rest of the Gnome Saga {HERE})

Do you see what they did to my poor Husker gnome?!?!  Revenge is called for.

A Gnome Saga – part 2

In case you missed part 1, you can find it {HERE}.

Now there was just no way that my Husker pride could just let this little incident go unanswered.  So I had to plan a little response to their stunt.  I decided the best response would be a little cattle roping – just like they deserve!  Here’s how it looked!

Nice, huh?

Now to answer a few of your questions – we currently live in Texas, but I was born in Nebraska.  That’s where I get my love for Big Red.   No, I will not be at the Nebraska SU regionals – as I am no longer an SU demo (I was a terrible one anyway – I didn’t really have many customers!) and I live in Texas.

Tune in later this week to see what happened next!

A Gnome Saga – part 1

Most of you probably know that I collect gnomes.  I’ve talked about it several times before.  I have amassed quite a collection in my *garden*  (aka bushes) in front of our house.  There are even a few that I have no idea where they came from.  (I suspect my Dad, but he says no…..) I think I have 6 regular size, 2 mini size, and 3 *sports* gnomes.  See, my Dad gave me a Nebraska gnome for my birthday.  Then a few weeks ago the boys and I were at Ace Hardware and we stumbled across a pair of Texas Longhorn gnomes – a boy and a girl!  Andy really loves the Longhorns (despite all my efforts to make him a Nebraska Cornhusker) and he begged to get them.  Since they were on clearance – I let him.  Under the stipulation that they had to be on the OTHER side of the sidewalk from my Nebraska gnome.

All was well until earlier this week.  I walked outside to place a new gnome in the front (a cute one with a little ‘house’ under it!) and what did I see?!?!  Let me just show you the photo…..

gnome-saga-1-2-09.jpg

Hmm…..I *know* that is not how I placed them!  See, Andy and I have frequently teased each other about our respective gnomes ganging up on the opposite team gnomes.  Apparently Andy and my Dad decided to make good on these threats.  And this was their little project.  Lovely!

So that is Part 1 of a Gnome Saga.  You’ll have to check back later to see my response to their little stunt!
