more believe…

My stepmom really liked this card and asked if I could make her a bunch.  So that’s what I’ve been doing lately!  I got them all finished so hopefully I can play with other new stuff tomorrow!  But they do look awfully pretty all splayed out on my table. Now to get them off in the mail….

Poppies?

So I am not really sure what flower this is – a poppy?  It’s funny – I adore flower stamps.  But I am the WORST gardener.  And I have no idea what flowers I am using for images.  I just like them!  So please do not ever depend on me to have correct coloring or anything!  Cause I just totally went with whatever I thought looked good!

Anyway, I was playing with this image for another card I posted earlier and decided that the swirly marker effect I had stamped with it would look cool on a Fabriano card.  I happened to have a box of those just sitting on my shelf.  I haven’t used them in ages, but I do love the simple elegance of an image stamped on them topped off with a bit of ribbon.  They just look classy.  So I used the same colors to marker up this image from Insightful Meadows by Unity and added a little ribbon from May Arts.

Smiles

So I had this stamp (Insightful Meadows by Unity) and this paper (The Sweetest Thing Tangerine by My Minds Eye).  I couldn’t quite match the coloring on the paper so I played around with some of my markers and came up with a few mixed together direct-to-stamp that got close.  I kind of like how it ended up sort of swirly!  Anyway – this is a fairly simple card – but I am really happy with how it turned out! I think the black marker ran around the edge of the image really made it work.  It’s finished off by some pretty scalloped ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.

And just in case you wanted to pick up any Unity goodies – it’s Angela’s birthday this weekend and they are 40% off with the code: ANG40.  I may need to pick up some more I left out of my last order!

Believe

Another card I made while playing with more of the Unity and Ribbon Carousel goodies I picked up.  I love so many of the great sentiment stamps that Unity has – and that they are designed to be your main image.  Totally fits my stamping style.  My step-mom adores anything with the word “believe” in it, so I figured she would love this one.  I chose to go simple with it and accent it with a bit of pleated ribbon – love that stuff!

Unity Fun

So for the first time in probably two years, I bought some stamps.  I just adore so many of the Itty Bitty images over at Unity – so I picked up a bunch during their last sale. I couldn’t wait to do some paper piecing with  this cute image, Dance in the Rain.  I love the sentiment in this set.  I used some paper from a Prima paper pad I had and some ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.

I hope you are all off to a great start for the new year!  I wish you all a happy and healthy 2013!

Valentines

I like making cute little valentines for my boys.  They all have the little Target Mailboxes {tutorial here} and usually  I make small ones that can go in there.

I had to bust out some of the new Echo Park Love Story paper I just picked up from Ribbon Carousel and so I decided to make a larger one.  Since most valentine stuff is pink or red and kinda girly, I figured the pop of some lime green would help.  And truly, my youngest won’t care!  He’ll think it is cute no matter what!  I used the valentine treat set from Papertrey Ink.

I love that I was able to cut the border behind the image from one of the sheets in the pad.  It just struck me as a perfect strip to put behind the main image.  And it turned out just how it was in my head!

Happy Birthday

So my middle son turns 11 next week  He adores music – both his acoustic and electric guitars are his favorites.  I figured this cute guy from A Muse would be perfect for this!  I paired it with some paper from Jillibean Soup.

I think the words were a mistake on the bottom there – I really thought that stamp was *thicker*.  Oh well – he won’t mind!

Monograms

For the first time since moving, I dug out my monogram stamps.  I needed a little gift for our neighbors, who have been so sweet to us since we moved in.  I figured  a set of monogrammed cards would be perfect.  I chose some pretty paper (older stuff from Prima) and went from there!

Then I used some of the boxes I got at Clearbags.com (more info HERE) to package them up before tucking them in a gift bag.  Easy!
