Gina K Blast From the Past - Day 5

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Today I have two move artists to share with you.  One is fairly new to Gina K Designs - Tami Mayberry.  The other is more than an artist - she is one of the most amazing women I have had the pleasure to work with, Gina K herself!  And for the icing on the cake of this wonderful Blast From the Past week - Gina has offered a coupon for you all!  So if you have spotted a set this week that you may have missed over the last few years - you can snag it with this coupon!

I only have a few sets by Tami Mayberry, but I knew right away which one I wanted to show tonight.  When I first saw this set, the star with damask jumped right out at me.  I had to make something else for my son during that release so I wasn’t able to use it then.  But I am a sucker for damask patterns so I went right for it this time!  I also adore the sentiment that was in this set as well.  So here is something using Stars…..

Now for Gina K - this was much harder!  I have so many wonderful stamps drawn by Gina…..but honestly - those of you have followed my blog for any amount of time know that I adore flowers.  And this was one of the first Gina K stamps I ever owned - and one of my absolute favorite stamps EVER!  If you haven’t seen me use it before (I’m not sure where you’ve been because I have many many times!), I bring you the flower trio from Simple Pleasures…..(and yes, I used that October Afternoon Fly A Kite paper AGAIN!)

Enjoy!

Gina K Blast From The Past - Day 3

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

I am so excited about the illustrators I have to share today!  I have something with a StampTV Kit (by Gina K herself!) and something from Alicia K (her daughter!).  I am always so amazed at what Alicia can draw - and she has inspired one of my boys to get into Manga drawing as well!

First I have a card using Wishes and Dreams by Alicia K.  I used some paper from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6×6 pad to create a sort of whimsical background for the little fairy image I watercolored.  I think am getting a bit better at coloring these!  I topped it off with some glitter pen accents on both the word ‘magical’ as well as the fairy herself!

Now for a StampTV card!  I love the whole idea of StampTV that Gina has created.  And the kits are just fabulous!  In just one kit you get tons of things to use to make the cards as well as a REALLY well-rounded set!  There are always lots of images as well as sentiments for many occasions!  I used Enjoy the Sunshine kit for my card because I adore the strawberries and I wanted to use them with the October Afternoon Fly A Kite paper! (Have I sold you on this paper pack yet?? LOL!)

Gina K Sneak Peek - Day 4

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Today I have two more gorgeous sets to give you a peek at.  Well - really it is THREE!  Nina Brackett has created a set called Fine Furnishings and there is a second set called Fine Furnishings Additions.  Both of these have so many possibilities - and I just ADORE this gorgeous chandelier in this set!  And it comes in TWO fabulous sizes!  Sorry - that was a lot of words in all caps - I’m just excited!

Apparently my *thing* for today is cream, black and pomegranate.  And I made these on different days!  Oh well - I love the colors, what can I say!

And then I have a little something from the Buy 3 Get 1 Free set - Friends are Forever.  This is a lovely floral set - my favorite kind!  And of course it was just crying out for a Fabriano watercolor card - so I whipped out my niji brush and made this….no idea what color that flower should actually be, but I made it pomegranate!

Daffodils

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

I found this card on my desk and realized that I had shared it during the release party 2 months ago, but never put it up here!  And it is definitely one of my favorites - Daffodils are my all-time favorite flower.  They are near impossible to get here in Texas.  Because it is so hot here, they only bloom for a very short time and then they are gone!  Matthew always tries to find them for my birthday in mid-April, but they are never around then! He gets points for looking though!  I think the year he was in Iraq last time he did manage to get a florist to deliver some - they didn’t even do bouquets of them, so it was just a few bundles of them!  I loved them though!

I am really not sure why I like them so much, perhaps because they are just so bright and yellow and cheerful….I don’t know.  But I always have!  Theresa Momber’s Daffodils in Sending Sunshine are just gorgeous for coloring.  I colored these with a niji waterbrush, reinkers and watercolor paper - and I am so happy with how they turned out!

See - bright, cheery - they just  make me smile!

Enjoy!
