Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 3

Today I have something from the newest Stamp TV kit to share! And this one is fantastic! Talk about an *all-in-one* kit to do your holiday cards! There is so much in this – you can do cards, labels, gifts toppers, etc – all from these stamps and this kit!

I made a simple card with this one – I love liquid applique for winter cards. Since I had printed the patterned paper on Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, I sponged a tad of a creamy shade on top to blend it. That was the applique snow wasn’t quite so blinding white!

Hello!  Today I have a card made with Nina Brackett’s newest stamp set – Lord of the Season. And it is just gorgeous!  I love all the different topiaries in this set – cause they are made for coloring!  This is also the  Color Challenge on SCS today – Pretty in Pink, Sage Shadow and Going Gray.

It is also made with another of my designs from Vintage Holly – the digital paper pack that will be released this week.

Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 1

Today I have a sneak peek from Theresa Momber’s newest set: A Very Merry Christmas!  And what a lovely set it is!  The images have a vintage-y feel to them and the greetings have an elegant font.  I think this is right up my alley!

I’ve also used some of the paper from my newest digital offerings for Gina K Designs: Vintage Holly.  I am really really excited about these papers – I think they are my most favorite I have ever made!

And also – a question for y’all!  I love watercoloring.  But the watercolor paper I’ve purchased from SU – my usual choice for watercolor paper – is an off-white/cream.  Does anyone know some great watercolor paper that is more white?

Acrylic Alpha Freebie and Asparagus….

I know – asparagus….but really and truly, we found an awesomely easy and delicious recipe!  The boys (and myself really) have never been asparagus fans.  But we saw Melissa D’Arabian make some and thought we’d give it a whirl…..but she used some ingredients I don’t care for.  I liked the lemon zest idea so I just googled “lemon asparagus recipe”.  I came across a few, but we tried this one from the Food Network website.

Steamed Asparagus with Lemon Butter

It took about 5 mins to prepare and 5 mins to cook.  It doesn’t get much easier than that!  And everyone LOVED IT!  I mean really loved it.  So much that we bought more asparagus the next day.   Now they each want their own bundle of asparagus – because they don’t like sharing!  I think that’s pretty awesome!  I use half the butter it calls for because I like more lemon, less butter flavor.  But this was so easy and yummy!

Imagine the looks we got from other shoppers when each boy had a bag with two bundles of asparagus in it and they were discussing whether we had enough or not….hey, I’m all for them loving a good veggie!  So try it out!   You will be pleasantly surprised!

And now for the last of the Acrylic freebies – Acrylic Alpha.  You can find the others here:

Just popping to to share a good sale on Cricut Cartridges – Scrapbookpal has good prices on them every day – but they dropped them another $5-$10 right now!  I just picked up the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and I can’t wait to play with it!

So check that out!

Cricut Cartridge Sale! Save up to $10 per cartridge!

Prices good through 9/27/09.

Acrylic Frames freebie and another page!

Yep, I can’t believe it either.  I scrapped a second page – so it’s a quick page….So what!  That means I met my goal for Sept in just this week!  Right on!

And the second Acrylic freebie – Acrylic Frames!  I actually really really love these.  Just fun and easy to embellish.  I may just have to actually use my own stuff – I totally quit scrapping when I started designing.  One of the reason I quit designing – I would rather get back in the scrapping groove.  Anyway – my page and then the freebie!

From our trip to the beach this summer: again I used Natali Design for my quick page and word art – like I said, I’m a huge fan of her stuff! You can find her designs {HERE}.

Eyes….

Well – today the boys are all going to get their eyes checked.  It’s time to start doing that regularly – as Matthew and I both wear glasses….let’s just say they are probably doomed!  At this point, they are still of the mindset that glasses are cool.  We’ll see how they feel after having to actually wear them for awhile!

I thought I would pop in and get another digital freebie out there before we head out.  So this is Day 1 of the Acrylics.  I have several Acrylic offerings for you – this one is a mess of bits and pieces.  Just a hodge podge of various acrylic shapes.  I’ve also got frames and an alpha coming later this week.  I hope you can use them!

Love and CC237

So I decided that I just can’t squeeze in scrapping.  I tried.  I kept buying kits.  Then I just never got time to actually do it.  This month I decided to make an easy goal of 2 pages a month.  And I can use quickpages.  What do I care if someone else made the actual page?  It’s still my photo, my journaling, my title, etc.  The beauty of digital scrapping is that you can use a page built by someone else!  Here is my first one – this photo was taken the day we dropped Matthew off this summer.

Quickpage – Natali Design – All You Need Is Love
Word Art – Natali Design – Playing with Word Art Vol 2

I highly recommend this method – it’s not like anyone looking at my albums with know if I made the page or not.  Isn’t the point to get the photos scrapped and the memories saved?  So I hereby release myself from any guilt over using quickpages! I hope this will eventually get me inspired to do my own again, but if not – I am ok with that!  If you are looking for great quickpages, I’ll try to share the links when I use them.  I like to look for designers that I like their style and then see if they also have quickpages available.   One of my current faves is Natali Design @ Scrapbookgraphics.  You can find her designs {HERE}.  She has lovely word art too!

And if you are interested in the SCS Color Challenge #237 – you can find that info {HERE}!
