Gina K Sneak Peek #1!

I am excited to bring you a sneak peek of Melanie Muenchinger’s newest frame set – Festive Frame!  If you have enjoyed the frame sets Melanie has done in the past – you are sure to like this one as well!  Not only do you have a gorgeous floral frame, but some truly lovely holiday themed verses as well!

For my sample today, I chose to emboss Melanie’s frame.  To make it pop a little, I used a mix of detail silver embossing powder and some Christmas mix glitter I picked up at a stamp convention a few years ago.  I figured this would make a nice, elegant frame with a bit of sparkle.  I ended up liking the result so much – I chose not to color it and just left it to stand alone.

A Winner and A Card!

I didn’t get the winner posted last night – but I did the Random Number Generator then!  It selected post #40!  So here’s the winner’s answer:

Darlene L Says:

We always had home cooked meals at our schools–I never carried a lunch. They were great meals too! My mom was one of the school cooks. We would even have homemade noodles and hot rolls. One of my favorites was served in high school was called Bumsteads. They were tuna salad sandwiches placed in a hot dog bun topped with cheese and baked in the oven–sort of like a tuna melt. Yum, yum–they were served on Fridays, when eating meat on Fridays was a no-no for the Catholics.

Congrats on all your posts–I am a happy subscriber. Thanks for the dedication and sharing your talents with all of us readers.

Darlene – email (emily@emilygiovanni.com) me your address and I’ll get your mystery prize mailed out to you!

I also wanted to share this info from one of my favorite stores:

And a little card – this was another we made at my last class…..and one I made a ton of extras of so I could have quick thank you’s, etc on hand.  It was also case’d from the CAS guru, Kurtis Amundson.  You can find his card {HERE}.

amuse-1-10-09-erg

supplies: A Muse sentiment; black uni-ball pen; ruler; butterfly punch from Martha Stewart; cool carribbean cardstock; basicgrey patterned paper; pencil to curl wings; quickie glue pen; corner rounder and palette noir black ink.

1001 posts!

Since I didn’t realize that my last post was my 1,000th post, I’ll just celebrate 1001!  I can’t believe I have been at this for that long!  Hmm….perhaps I should give away something!  Yep, I think I will!  But it will be a mystery!  Mostly cause I don’t have time at the moment to take a photo and post it…..so it’ll be a mystery prize!

I’ll have more on that later…first the stuff I was originally going to post today before I saw the post number!  A few more Bento lunch photos…..we got bands for their boxes and also these cute little bottles to keep dressings in.  It’s a perfect amount of salad dressing!  I also cut some mini shapes in cheese and cumbers lately – I think it’s kinda cute!

10-09-bento-1-erg

These contain salad, cucumbers, pineapple, roast beef and turkey roll-ups, cheese, baby carrots, jello jigglers, coconut cashews, almonds, pretzels, salad dressing, ranch, mini candy bars and cantelope.

10-09-bento-2

Another recent Bento – gogurt, swiss cheese sticks, chocolate bar, coconut cashews, grapes, bell peppers, and turkey and swiss roll-ups.

10-09-bento-3

And how they look with the bands holding them together – much classier than rubber bands!  I also use that top section to put a napkin in…

And also a card!  This was one we did at my last card class.  I love this cardstock shade from PTI – and at how easy these stamps are to line up for making backgrounds.

pti-3-10-09-erg

supplies: Background Basics: Stars by PTI; sentiment from A Muse; Pure Luxury White Cardstock Pure White in layering and base weights; tag trio dies; Enchanted Evening cardstock, ink and ribbon; Vintage Touch ink; corner rounder; and dimensionals.

So back to that giveaway!  To celebrate 1001 posts – I’ve got a Mystery Prize!  I promise it’s fabulous too!  Want to know how to win?

Here’s how!

1. Leave a comment here on this post and tell me what your favorite lunch box item was! (not something from one of my lunches – but your lunches!)

2. This post closes at 10:00 PM, CST – Tuesday, November 13th.

3. I will use the Random Number Generator to choose a winner!

My first sample this week is case’d from the King of the CAS (Clean And Simple) card – and fellow Gina K Design Team Member – Kurtis Amundson!  He absolutely owns the clean, elegant look – I love the way he does this with so few layers!  You can find the card that inspired this one {HERE}.
