We’ve Moved – remake

I hope you enjoyed the peeks at GinaK’s release for April.  The chat this evening was a lot of fun, if you have never been to a GinaK party – you should stop by next time!

I decided to remake the We’ve Moved card I showed earlier this week – I chose a different color combo – and I think that made all the difference.  As much as I love that new Turquoise Sea Pure Luxury – it just wasn’t right for that design.  I went with Soft Sand this time around and it really turned out better.  Not as fun – but you can at least see the house stamp this time!

Enjoy!

GinaK Sneak Peek Day 4

Today I have a card that managed to squeeze in 3 different sets from this release!  Pretty awesome, huh?  The background stamp on the strip across the middle is from Nina Brackett’s Vintage Backgrounds.  The silhouette image is from Theresa Momber’s Gone Fishing .   The sentiment is from Gina K’s Masculine Messages (which I could not love more!).  A distressing masterpiece of stamp sets, enjoy!  LOL!

The Release Party is tomorrow night on StampTV.  We would LOVE to have you join us for the fun!

There will be challenges, contest questions, chatter, as well as tons of samples from the Design Team members from 7-10 (central time) all leading to the new products being available in GinaK’s online store at 10pm.

Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 3

Today I have two things to share.  The first is made with Rupa Shevda‘s newest set, Welcome Home.  I’m afraid I didn’t quite hit this one.  I was aiming for something very very simple that could be mass produced easily when you move to a new home – you know, something you can slap a new address label in the inside of or something.  But now I just think it looks TOO simple….kind of silly.  Thoughts?

And then I have something with Asela Hopkin’s images – Sew Pretty.  This set is just adorable!  I had fun distressing the heck out of everything with some Tea Dye and Antique Photo ranger inks.  My favorite thing to do!

Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 2

Hello!  Today I have some peeks at a new set from Theresa Momber and one from Gina K herself!  As usual, Gina has some adorably cute images with pun-y sentiments!  And Theresa has drawn some amazingly life-like images perfect for Father’s Day or for a fisherman in your life!

For Quite A Catch, I chose to go simple with some paper piecing and a bit of stickles….

For Gone Fishing, I chose to watercolor the image after masking it a bit….and then it was just a nice scene, so I left it to stand alone.  The inside says “There is no place higher than on a father’s shoulders.”

Do you see where I messed with the water?!  I should know by now to just leave it ALONE!  LOL!

Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 1

I am really excited to share the newest things coming to Gina K this month.  And the thing I am the MOST excited about is the newest shade of Pure Luxury – the most divine color ever!!  Probably my favorite so far in all cardstock brands and shades!!  It is called Turquoise Sea and I used it on my card with Tami Mayberry’s adorable set – Oh Boy!

And I also have a card with Melanie Muenchinger‘s newest illustrations – Gifts from the Sea.  I think my favorite part of this set is the sentiments – there are some really sweet ones in there!  I went simple with this card – it’s easy to do something lovely with these images!

Gina K Illustrator Blog Hop – UPDATED!

**UPDATED** I got a new card and card reader so here is my post WITH card!  No sign of the old one….so sad.

So I have a lovely card and story for you….but I can’t show the card.  I have misplaced the card reader for my camera….with my card in it!  I am just heartbroken about the hundreds of photos I have on that card that I hadn’t downloaded.  I have always heard stories of people having this happen or having their card erased.  I thought, nah – that’ll never happen to me!  YES IT DID!  So please please PLEASE – download your photos OFTEN!  Even if you don’t edit them or whatever right away!

For now I will just tell my story and show my book…..and you can just imagine the card.  I’ll get a new card tomorrow and take a photo and load it as soon as I can.  Unless (insert lots of prayers here!) I find the card and then I’ll do it right away!

My boys have always loved Sandra Boynton books.  They are so cute and funny.  I love them!  The Belly Button Book, But Not The Hippopotomas, and Barnyard Dance were some of our faves.  However, Andy adored Dinosaur’s Binkit.  We read it EVERY night.  So much that it literally fell apart.  Andy had a favorite blanket….and when he first started saying blanket to ask for it – he called it “Binkit”.  Well….it actually came out rhyming with the word “witch (which my mother had a field day with!! Thank you for that Mom!).   It was a funny 2 months until he learned to say it correctly!

Here is the book we loved:

And my card….well, just image a card made with Nina Brackett’s Nana’s Needlework stamp set…kind of primary colored with some Graphic 45 papers.  This is in honor of a baby quilt a friend made for Andy.  We still have it in their toy room.

Relay For Life

The boys and I have joined a team from their Elementary School to walk in Relay for Life.  This cause means a lot to me – as I am sure it does to many.  Cancer has touched the lives of most people – and this campaign raises awareness, money for research, as well as a chance to honor those that have had cancer –  both survivors and those who have passed away – with luminarias.  Please consider donating to our team!  The boys and I have a goal of just $100 – I know we can do this!

My Personal Page

Donation Link

THANK YOU so much and if you would like to purchase a luminaria, I can do that for you.  It is a white bag with a lit candle inside that I will print out a card bearing the name of the person you would like to honor.  I will handle those donations through paypal, so please email me (emily@emilygiovanni.com) if you are interested.  They are $5.
