Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 4

Today I have two more gorgeous sets to give you a peek at.  Well – really it is THREE!  Nina Brackett has created a set called Fine Furnishings and there is a second set called Fine Furnishings Additions.  Both of these have so many possibilities – and I just ADORE this gorgeous chandelier in this set!  And it comes in TWO fabulous sizes!  Sorry – that was a lot of words in all caps – I’m just excited!

Apparently my *thing* for today is cream, black and pomegranate.  And I made these on different days!  Oh well – I love the colors, what can I say!

And then I have a little something from the Buy 3 Get 1 Free set – Friends are Forever.  This is a lovely floral set – my favorite kind!  And of course it was just crying out for a Fabriano watercolor card – so I whipped out my niji brush and made this….no idea what color that flower should actually be, but I made it pomegranate!

Now for Tami Mayberry’s newest set: Stars, I have something a little different.  My oldest son, Andy, just won a Battle of the Books competition in our school district.  He and his 4 teammates will be competing again on Thursday.  I wanted to make them a little something for good luck and to congratulate them on the first round of gold medals.  So I made them each a Rock Star bookmark.  Also – I wanted to share a pic of Andy – see the other kids wanted photos of them kissing their gold medals….not my child!  He wanted one of him “barfing up” his medal.  Wonderful.

And now for the bookmarks…

Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 2

So remember how I said this release was awesome?  Well here is another double dose of that awesome-ness!  And really, you will see what I mean when you get a peek at these two sets!

First up is a cutie little birthday card for a cutie little girl!  And since this set (Candles on Your Cake) was designed by Melanie Muenchinger, you know it is FULL of fabulous images!  By full I mean TONS of stamps!  I used Urban Prairie Basic Grey from the 6×6 pad on this little card…

And next up I have a lovely card using Theresa Momber’s Hope Grows.  I really adore this set – such lovely sentiments and gorgeously elegant images.  I was rummaging through my papers and found this Bo Bunny paper that was perfect for this!

Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 1

Today I bring you some of the newest offerings from Gina K – and be prepared, this release is fabulous!  I know that is often said, but really – some of my favorite images are coming out this month!

First up I have something from a set by Gina K herself – Botanicals. I really love the images in this set – and when I first saw it, it just called out for some Soft Sand cardstock!

GinaK Illustrator Blog Hop!

Today we had a challenge:

What’s your favorite?

Choose a movie that you like and make a card inspired by that movie.

Well I am all about the comedies….but I couldn’t really fit any of my favorites into this theme!  So I really had to work at this one, lol!  Tommy Boy starring Chris Farley and David Spade is one of my all-time favorite comedies.  I could probably quote most of that movie.  And I am forever spitting out bits of it to the boys (the appropriate bits!) and I cannot wait til they are old enough to watch it with me!  So I worked Tami Mayberry’s Oh Boy! into this movie….it’s a bit of a stretch, but here goes!

In Tommy Boy – there is a scene where Chris Farley’s character is sitting in a little sailboat with his girlfriend…..and he is joking about needing a little wind to power the sail.  Some kids start making fun of them from the shore – shouting out various insults about Chris’s weight, etc.  Then his girlfriend takes matters into her own hands and screams at them…something about knowing where they sleep, etc.  Not my favorite part of the movie – but it at least tied into the movie!  So here’s my sailboat!

Life is WONDERFUL!

So most of you have read about {HERE} my love of Peppermint Mocha drinks from Starbucks as well as the Peppermint Mocha creamer that comes out every year around the holidays. A reader once suggested buying a bunch and freezing it – which prompted my husband to buy all 23 containers that Kroger had put on clearance one January. Yes he got a lot of strange looks when he called me from the store to ask how many he should buy and then proceeded to load the car with ALL of them….gosh I love him!

IT IS NOW OUT ALL YEAR ROUND!!! See – life is wonderful!

Enjoy!

Daffodils

I found this card on my desk and realized that I had shared it during the release party 2 months ago, but never put it up here!  And it is definitely one of my favorites – Daffodils are my all-time favorite flower.  They are near impossible to get here in Texas.  Because it is so hot here, they only bloom for a very short time and then they are gone!  Matthew always tries to find them for my birthday in mid-April, but they are never around then! He gets points for looking though!  I think the year he was in Iraq last time he did manage to get a florist to deliver some – they didn’t even do bouquets of them, so it was just a few bundles of them!  I loved them though!

I am really not sure why I like them so much, perhaps because they are just so bright and yellow and cheerful….I don’t know.  But I always have!  Theresa Momber’s Daffodils in Sending Sunshine are just gorgeous for coloring.  I colored these with a niji waterbrush, reinkers and watercolor paper – and I am so happy with how they turned out!

See – bright, cheery – they just  make me smile!

Enjoy!
