Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 3

Today I have  two more sets to sneak peek for you!  Seeds of Kindness by Gina K herself (this is the new Card Kit!) and Hugs and Prayers by Nina Brackett.  I think you will really love both of these!

First I have a watercolored image from Seeds of Kindness.  I also used one of the Borderabilities by Spellbinders to make a side border.  I also sponged lots of distressing ink around the edges of pretty much everything!  The papers  are from Basic Grey’s Capella 6×6 pad.

Next I have a floral card I also watercolored using Hugs and Prayers.  For this card I used Basic Grey’s Bittersweet papers.

Gina K – Day 2 Sneak Peeks

Today I have two more Sneak Peeks to share with you!  Rupa Shevda has a new set called Lawn and GardenAsela Hopkins is back with another lovely set, Pretty As A Peacock!

This first card with Pretty as a Peacock is just a tiny 3.6×3.5 card.  I try to have some of these around for using for little notes for the boys or whatever.  Tiny cards are always useful!  And this sentiment and image are perfect for a multitude of situations!

The next one is one of my favorites from this week.  I am really stuck on the October Afternoon Fly A Kite paper pack Gina carries – this particular sheet being my favorite from the whole pack!  Here is an image from Lawn and Garden (the brads from Basic Grey just happened to coordinate beautifully!)

I have taken to outlining my images/punches from the Nestabilities dies.  I just like the way it sets it off a bit from the next layer.  I don’t know why, but this week I think I did it to every image!

Gina K Sneak Peek – Day 1

Today I have 3 different sets to share with you.  The first uses Melanie Muenchinger’s Fun Year Round.  The second uses both Tami Mayberry’s Stitches and Theresa Momber’s Aloha.

Melanie has created another great mosaic-style set for you to play with!  This one is all about circles.  I used paper from October Afternoon as well as lots of shades of Pure Luxury cardstock to do a paper pieced look using the mosaic background stamp.

I paired Theresa and Tami’s sets together for a lazy days of summer style hammock card.  I used the palm tree and the hammock stamp on Pure Luxury Kraft cardstock.  Then I stamped the zigzag stitch from Tami’s stitches set across the back panel strip.  This stamped perfectly – even across a seam of two different papers.  Just like real stitching!

Gina K Blog Hop!

We had a little challenge this week – to make something inspired by a favorite Summer Memory.  Well – one of the best summer memories I have was back in Junior High-ish.  We had a bit of a family reunion out in North Carolina.  My Dad’s whole family was there and we rented condos on the beach.

One day it just rained and rained.  So of course there wasn’t much to do.  Since it was a condo, we really didn’t have anything with us to keep busy because we’d spent most of our time out on the beach.  So my stepmother had an idea and we all trekked into town to a craft store of some type.  She purchased hooks and yarn and we all learned to crochet!  She already knew how and proceeded to teach us all.   I’ve since made several afghans in my day – although none in recent years – but it will be something that will stick with me forever!

Nina Brackett’s Fine Furnishings and Fine Furnishings Additions was perfect for this idea – there is a little blanket in the set!  So I used a bit of paper from the 6×6 Nook and Pantry pad and got to work!

Blackhawks Win!

We are huge Chicago Blackhawks fans here – and that was quite a series!  The boys and I faithfully watched every game  – and then Matthew would call from Iraq and chat about it after.  Poor guy – he had to get up at 2 or 3 am to catch the games!  That’s a true fan!  Anyway, I figured the boys could get him some Stanley Cup wear for a Father’s Day gift since it’s coming up.  And of course they got some too!\

Personally, I find this shirt slightly creepy – I mean, I love the players and all, but do we really need their heads enlarged on a t-shirt?

And if you are in need of any sports wear – this place rocks!  Quick shipping, lots of selection, comfy tees, etc all in one place! You even earn money towards future purchases!  I got a lot of Christmas gifts here from various college teams (Nebraska for myself, of course!) and my little brother and sister that go to Mizzou!  Anyway – I highly recommend them!
