Today I bring you two cards for the Gina K Design Team Blog Hop!  Our challenge this month was to use one of the techniques featured in a StampTV video!  I knew right away which I was going to use, because I’ve been wanting to do it ever since she said she was making a video about it!  I had purchased an Impressibilities  die several months ago and could never really get an impression from it so I set it aside.  Well - now I used it two different ways and got great results!

First I tried it just using the regular emboss/deboss technique.  I think it is all about the sandwich you use here.  I have a Wizard from Spellbinders, but for this I drug out my Cuttlebug.  And it worked like a charm!  You can find the video here:  Impressiblities Using Your Cuttlebug.

Next I decided to try another of her videos using the die - because why not!   This time I went with the Letterpress technique and it turned out great too!  I used Versamark ink instead of a colored ink because I wanted a more subtle color, but I think it looks great either way!  Here is the video:  Letterpress with Impressibilities.

Today is the last day of previews for this release!  I hope you all stop by the Release Party over at Stamp TV - Thursday night at 10pm central.  We will just be arriving back home from a trip to Missouri - so I’ll be looking forward to a quiet evening on the computer!  I have two more sets to sneak peek for you tonight - Blessed is the Season by Gina K, this will be a Special Edition StampTV set I know you will love!  The second set for tonight is Versatile Verses by Gina K - this is the latest Buy 3 Get 1 FREE set!

I am really loving this first card - Blessed is the Season.  I stamped the worded background image and then used a nestability to emboss around it.  Then I left the nestability in place and used post-its to mask off any extra area around it that the snowflake might overlap.  I stamped the words in red on kraft and then the snowflakes were stamped in white ink on top of that.  I think it really came out well!

I made this card as a thank you note to my stepmother who so sweetly hemmed my jeans for me!  I just hate that even petite jeans are too long!  Anyway, she loves teal so I used this paper from the Fly a Kite pack from October Afternoon (can you tell I love that paper pack!!).  It was SO simple to line up the words inside the oval - and it turned out perfectly!  I also used a Vivid ink pad (like Gina K carries) for the first time on this card - the Aqua ink. I really like how it stamps!  I will be investing in some more of those!  You can find them {here}!  (Best thing about them - they have this lovely aqua color I’ve wanted for ages - AND you can watercolor with the reinkers!)
