Gina K Blast From the Past – Day 5

Today I have two move artists to share with you.  One is fairly new to Gina K Designs – Tami Mayberry.  The other is more than an artist – she is one of the most amazing women I have had the pleasure to work with, Gina K herself!  And for the icing on the cake of this wonderful Blast From the Past week – Gina has offered a coupon for you all!  So if you have spotted a set this week that you may have missed over the last few years – you can snag it with this coupon!

I only have a few sets by Tami Mayberry, but I knew right away which one I wanted to show tonight.  When I first saw this set, the star with damask jumped right out at me.  I had to make something else for my son during that release so I wasn’t able to use it then.  But I am a sucker for damask patterns so I went right for it this time!  I also adore the sentiment that was in this set as well.  So here is something using Stars…..

Now for Gina K – this was much harder!  I have so many wonderful stamps drawn by Gina…..but honestly – those of you have followed my blog for any amount of time know that I adore flowers.  And this was one of the first Gina K stamps I ever owned – and one of my absolute favorite stamps EVER!  If you haven’t seen me use it before (I’m not sure where you’ve been because I have many many times!), I bring you the flower trio from Simple Pleasures…..(and yes, I used that October Afternoon Fly A Kite paper AGAIN!)

The entire GinaK Designs team would like to invite you to the virtual Release party we’ll be having tonight (Thursday, August 5th) on StampTV.  It will be a bit different than our usual release party, but we’ll still have challenges, contest questions, and designer samples that you won’t want to miss out on!  See you there for all the fun!

Enjoy!

Gina K Blast From the Past – Day 4

I have two more fabulous illustrators to showcase today in Gina K’s Blast From the Past Blog Hop!  Today I have something from both Asela Hopkins and Carolyn King!  Both of these ladies are immensely talented and I have two of my favorites from them to share!

For Carolyn King I have one of my favorite sets of hers to share.  I adored this set when it was first released and I’ve used it several times since!  It’s got such clean lines and flowers, of course!  Using Basic Grey’s Kioshi 6×6 pad along with Framed Flowers:

For Asela Hopkins, I have something from a fairly recent set – but definitely a favorite of mine!  I love the way Asela draws animals – and particularly these adorable birds!  I made two 3×3 cards with Asela’s images using just copic markers: BG01, YG03, B00, RV02, RV000, RV10 and Dream Birds:

Gina K Blast From The Past – Day 3

I am so excited about the illustrators I have to share today!  I have something with a StampTV Kit (by Gina K herself!) and something from Alicia K (her daughter!).  I am always so amazed at what Alicia can draw – and she has inspired one of my boys to get into Manga drawing as well!

First I have a card using Wishes and Dreams by Alicia K.  I used some paper from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6×6 pad to create a sort of whimsical background for the little fairy image I watercolored.  I think am getting a bit better at coloring these!  I topped it off with some glitter pen accents on both the word ‘magical’ as well as the fairy herself!

Now for a StampTV card!  I love the whole idea of StampTV that Gina has created.  And the kits are just fabulous!  In just one kit you get tons of things to use to make the cards as well as a REALLY well-rounded set!  There are always lots of images as well as sentiments for many occasions!  I used Enjoy the Sunshine kit for my card because I adore the strawberries and I wanted to use them with the October Afternoon Fly A Kite paper! (Have I sold you on this paper pack yet?? LOL!)

Gina K Blast From The Past – Day 2

Today I have two more fabulous Illustrators to share with you!  We are featuring Theresa Momber and Rupa Shevda!

First up is Theresa Momber.  The set I chose to share today is Hope Grows.  And I chose this set mostly because I had this paper from Graphic 45 that was just perfect for the leaf images.  I really love those two stamps used together as a background-ish image.

Next I have a card using a set by Rupa Shevda.  I decided with this one I would do another version of one of my all time favorite cards.  You can find the orginal {HERE}. And here is the updated version using Retro Boutique.

Gina K – Blast From The Past – Day 1

This month we are doing something a little different!  Instead of releasing a bunch of new sets,  we are showcasing past Gina K Designs stamps.  I love this idea because it can help you see more ways to use stamps you already have!  Or see stamps that you may have missed from previous releases!  And I actually get a chance to use some of my older sets for a change!  The hard part was picking which set to use each day!

Today we are showcasing Melanie Muenchinger and Nina Brackett.  First up is Melanie!  It was hard to choose for her because I have TON of Melanie stamps!  However, I figured I ought to show one of my favorites of her sets – as well as one I haven’t used in awhile!  I also have a niece who has a loose tooth and needed this anyway!   So here is a Tooth Tin made with What’s In Your Tin?  Set 1 by Melanie Muenchinger!

Next up is Nina Brackett.  Because Nina’s designs are so very my style, it was hard to pick which set to dig out.  However, one of my favorite images of hers is a tri-flower image from Bug Me Anytime.  I altered my stamp by trimming the stems a bit so I could fit the flowers on in a smaller space.  For this card I paper pieced them using paper from October Afternoon’s Fly A Kite.  The sentiment is from Lovely Shelf.
