Blast From The Past Hop – Tami Mayberry!

Hello!   Today we are helping Tami Mayberry end her month long Blast from the Past with a customer blog hop. Tami is an illustrator for Gina K Designs; and, if you haven’t been to her blog this month to see all of the featured ideas using her stamp sets, you’ll want to be sure and stop by today. You could win FIVE of her stamp sets simply by leaving comments on her blast from the past posts. You can click here to find more details.

If you didn’t come here from Tami Mayberry‘s blog you’ll want to start back at the beginning on her blog because each comment left on the blog participants’ blogs will also count as an entry into the random drawing for the 5 stamp sets being given away!

I decided to use Live Life Loud – one of my favorite sets from Tami!  I paired a polka dot paper from Basic Grey’s Junebug line with some Red Hot Pure Luxury.  I even broke out the embossing powder for this one!  And I hate that mess!!  The Red Hot layer in the background was embossed with the Allegro Cuttlebug folder.  Best part – although extremely not fun to do! – the tiny black gems around the scallops.  I love how it turned out – but it was a pain in the butt to do!

Now, hop on over and visit Laura Williams‘ for more ideas using stamp sets by Tami Mayberry and another chance to win. Also, If you have Tami’s stamps and missed the deadline to sign up for the hop you can still play along by leaving a link on her blog.

Gina K Blog Hop – Day 3

For the last day of our Blog Hop this week, I have something from a set by Gina herself.  This set is perfect – flowers and pun-tastic sayings!  The things I first fell in love with about Gina’s stamps!

For What’s the Dirt?, I used some watercolor paper for the image.  I paired my Damask Grunge digital paper with Innocent Pink Pure Luxury.  And I am just loving those new Spellbinder tags!

I hope you have enjoyed all the fabulous projects the Design Team has created for this Release!  Be sure to stop by the other DT Blogs to find out what they created with What’s the Dirt?

Gina K Blog Hop – Day 2!

Today I have two more fabulous sets to share with you!  The first is called Branching Out by Melanie Muenchinger.  The second is called Follow Your Dreams by Theresa Momber.  I know you will love both of these sets – here’s what I did when them for today!

I previously shared this card at the Release Party, but here it is again.  I used Kraft and Lipstick Red Pure Luxury cardstocks along with the Clockworks Cuttlebug folder.  Really simple, but I like how it turned out!

For Follow Your Dreams, I tried to make a more manly card.  I was aiming for a retirement card for a man… know, congratulations – you have more time for fishing?!?  I dunno if I got it worked out though – Matthew kinda laughed at it.  I like it though!

Make sure you check out all the other awesome projects from the Design Team.  And you can find all the products in the New Release {HERE}!

Gina K Blog Hop – Day 1!

I hope you were all able to stop by the Release Party last night over at Stamp TV.  If not, you can still check out all the contests and samples shared in the Release Forum {HERE}.  It was quite the party!  And I was definitely wow’ed by all the samples from the other DT members.  I’ve got a few cards to share with you today – one being the card I shared only a snippet of yesterday!

Many of you commented on the bright *spring* feel of the paper yesterday – it is Delovely by Cosmo Cricket.  I love the colors in it!  Anyway, here is the whole card – featuring Garden Silhouettes – the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE set for this month!

Next up I have two versions of the same image from both Garden Silhouettes and a background from Timeless Textures.  I wanted to use Kraft Pure Luxury and some Distress inks – I ended up with a card using Tea Dye and a card using Vintage Photo.  These were also inspired by Jimmi’s challenge to use 3 different patterned papers…, I may have cheated a bit since I just used tiny strips – but I did work at least 3 into each card!  You can find her challenge {HERE}!  First I have the one using Tea Dye – the papers are from an older Basic Grey 6×6 pad….and I used some Grand Nestabilities on this one too!  My sewing got a little out of control on the edges though…..

Next I have the card using the same stamp sets, but accented with Vintage Photo Distressing ink.  This one also uses an older Basic Grey pad…I actually worked in 5 different pieces of paper out of that pad!  And notice – not a single embellishment aside from the dimensionals!  That’s two cards today with no ribbons!

The best part – you can pick up all of these stamps RIGHT NOW!!  And Gina K has added all sorts of new goodies to {the shop} – I know I scooped up a bunch of new papers – not that my stamp room needs them……but they are so pretty!  Make sure you stop by all the other Design Team blogs and check out what they have made!

Birthday Cards

This past Sunday was my birthday.  The menfolk here at my house made it extra special by each making me a card in my Stamp Room!  I just have to share them with you because they are so so fabulous!!

First up is Adam (7) – now I admit to working with him on his card.  He chose everything, but he said Daddy couldn’t help him because he didn’t know what he was doing, lol!  And since Adam had watched Gina K’s video about lining your envelopes, he wanted to make sure his was lined as well!

Next up is Alex (9).  Alex makes cards all the time – he has a stash of supplies (mostly scraps from my things, etc) and he knew what he wanted to do all on his own.  He accidentally glued the card front on the wrong way, so he had to add an arrow directing me which way to open the card…..

Andy (10) worked with Matthew on his card….but he chose everything himself.  I am impressed that two guys came up with this one!

Last is Matthew.  Now Matthew has made many a card for me over the years….he is actually quite creative with it.  But it has been a looong while since he’s done one.  This he did all alone…..

I’ve got some pretty talented, special men in my life, don’t I??  Anyway, the boys specifically asked that I share their work – they love reading comments!

Gina K Technique Highlight Blog Hop!

Welcome to a fun Gina K. Designs Design Team hop! Today we are showing techniques of all kinds as featured on Stamp TV. We hope you enjoy hopping through the variety of techniques and are inspired to try something new!

You should be coming from Giovana Smith’s blog {HERE}!

Now for my attempt at a new-to-me technique!  I chose two of Gina’s video tutorials over at StampTV.  For my card, I tried out Inking A Cuttlebug Folder.  I’ve never done this one – and it took a few tries to get the look I wanted.  Partly because I chose a polka-dot folder and partly because I originally tried white ink on a lighter cardstock (not a good plan!).   I ended up using my old SU Cool Caribbean ink pad on white Pure Luxury Cardstock.    Anyway, the final result turned out how I wanted!

I also used her video on making a template for Lining Your Envelopes.  I’ve never lined an envelope before – but her video was super easy to follow and it worked perfectly!  I can see doing this a lot more often in the future – it really dresses up you envelope!  A simple addition that really adds some elegance to your work!  I lined mine with a solid-ish sheet from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6×6 pad.

I used some more of my favorite Pure Luxury paper – Turquoise Sea for this card.  The polka dot frame is from Lovely Labels 1 and the sentiment is from Fanciful Tags.

Now be sure to continue hopping by checking out what Cathy Tidwell  is up to over {HERE}!
