Gina K Blog Hop – Day 1!

Hello!  It has  been a crazy month for me.  In the last three weeks I have had foot surgery and sinus surgery.  My foot is mostly recovered – I can just about wear a regular shoe!  My sinus surgery was just a week ago and it’s been really rough.  Also my middle son broke his foot not two days after my foot surgery!  It has been challenging around here to say the least!  Anyway, the reason I say all that is because I had intended to sit this release out.  However, after seeing all the gorgeous sets this month – I just couldn’t!  I only manged to stumble into my stamp room once so far and I have only one card to share today, but I plan to work on some over the holiday weekend since we are just resting and recovering around here!

The Release Party was last night over at Stamp TV.  So all of the wonderful products you see in this hop are already available {HERE}! Today I have a card with one of my most favorite sets this month (and that was a hard choice!).  It is Vogue Vases by Theresa Momber.  I can’t even tell you what it is about it that appeals to me (aside from my love of floral stamps!) but I just liked it the moment I saw it!  Just for fun – I only used products from the StampTV kit, Vintage Chic.  Aside from the rhinestones in the center of the flowers and that one flower accent – it’s all from there!

Right in between those two above mentioned surgeries, I managed to make to a Copic Certification class taught by fellow Gina K Design Team member, Colleen Schaan.  It was wonderful!  She is such a great teacher and super nice too!  I learned a lot and I can’t wait to find an Intermediate class to attend.  Now I have had these markers for quite awhile, and I use them on occasion.  But I don’t ever really want to.  I actually reached for them right away for this card – and I liked my first try on it too!  That never happens!  So in my book – that class was totally worth it!  (I used R32, R35, and R37 on the flowers)

Psst! Colleen – did you see my Copic colored flower accent on there too?!  Are you proud of me, Teacher?  😉

(I apologize for the less than stellar photo  – let’s face it, I’m not really all *here* yet, ok?)

Please be sure to stop by all the other Design Team blogs for lots more cards and fabulous projects!!

Gina K Sew Fun Blog Hop!

Members of Gina K.’s Design Team have come together to host a hop with sewing as the center theme.   Along the hop you will find a variety of sewing techniques from hand sewing to faux sewing!

If you came from Donna Baker, you’re at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV where you will find a list of all those participating in today’s hop.

Now I chose to do actual sewing with my Janome – which if you have not checked out Gina’s videos over at StampTV, it makes it SO easy to use!!  I wanted to make two quick cards for my younger two sons.  My oldest and I are off to Ohio so I can take a Copic Certification class, finally!  And I couldn’t go without leaving them a little note!  I sewed the panels behind the sentiment with my Janome.  I used Nina Brackett’s Lovely Labels 3, Echo Park’s For The Record, and Cosmo Cricket’s Salt Air.

Head on over to Giovana Smith to see what she’s sharing with you today!
