Ok - here goes Day 1! We’ll see if I can actually manage to get one up every day now! So the first day is a New Product review. Now I don’t know that these will all actually be new products, but they are new to me. I got two sets of Bazzill Stitch’z from eclecticpaperie and here’s what I think of them….
First of all, here’s what they look like:
I got both sets that eclectic carries. One is a stitching set and the other is flowers and stems. In retrospect, I don’t know that I needed the flowers and stems one…..I’m not even sure what I will do with them yet. But we’ll see! They come with a nifty metal ring to store them on, which is nice. The stitching ones are long enough to do a 12 in strip with. I think for scrapbooking, this would be handy. They also have black lines to show you what stitch they are meant to do - very cool if you want to draw the stitching in, but you can just leave it for a pierced pattern as well. Here’s what I did with it.
1. I tried the swirled pattern on a card front stamped with the SU paisley background stamp. (and yes, that’s my .99 ikea mousepad I’m piercing on….)
2. But I kinda though you couldn’t see it very well.
3. So I decided to try a plain card front and a different pattern….
4. I think that showed up much better!
Thoughts:
I really think they are a bit more geared for scrapbooking as they are 12 in templates (and the flowers are a good size too). The spacing is also a bit wide for a card for some of the patterns. I think some of the stitches are fine for a card, and I love that you can see through it (my issue with the metal Lasting Impressions template) and it fits a whole card front without having to re-align it (my issue with the SU template). So……it has some definite pluses. I think that I am still in search of the perfect template, but this is definitely a step in the right direction!
And here’s my finished card!
supplies: embrace life by SU; A Muse sentiment; Bazzill Stitch’z template; Making Memories piercer; mellow moss, purely pomegranate, white and black cardstock; mellow moss, purely pomegranate and palette noir ink; niji waterbrush; dimensionals; ribbon; and classic circle nestibilites (yes, more info on that later this week!)
Ok, that’s it for Day 1!

Beautiful card, Emily, and thank you so much for the review. I can’t tell you how helpful this is; I don’t get a chance to get out and actually see first hand a lot of these products, and I wonder how they really work. I find your review detailed and also objective (some will like the product, some won’t). Thanks for the time you put into this!

Thank you so much! I have been looking at these for a while and now I’m sure I don’t want them. Your reviews rock! and i like the faux stitching tech you did a while back. I just need to get my hands on one of the dot templates you had. Anyone know where I can get one? thanks!

Thanx for the tips. I think that if you play with them a bit more then you mite find more uses for them and end up loving them.

Glad you’re feeling better. I also HATE that you have to move the stupid SU template a million times on one card.
