Baby Gift…and the Draft!

Yeah really – I watch the NFL draft.  And I like it.  My boys – well, they are pretty much hating us right now……they find it a little boring, lol!  But seriously – how else do you know who’s up and coming…..and the human interest stories….good stuff, I tell ya!

A friend at church had a sweet baby girl this past week and I made dinner to take over one day last week. And of course I had to make something to go with it! I absolutely love these frames I found at Joann’s. They were on clearance for .99!! I’m not sure if they carry them normally or not, but I got the 5 or 6 they had at the time. They are a good size, and they are nice and thick. They make for great altering. And I made a little something for my friend too. Here’s the goods!

Frame: <tutorial here>

supplies: Joann’s frame; Simplicity papers from Fancy Pants; velvet ribbon; mod podge; spray acrylic sealant; rub ons by Crate Paper; sticky strip to adhere ribbon.

And for the new mommy, I figured we always have stuff we need to jot down – so how about a note holder of some type. But I didn’t want to do just a post-it note pad…..and I remembered these 4×6 post-it pads I picked up at Target in the $1 spot one day – they were on clearance for .25 each! So I adjusted my dimensions (and I apologize, but I threw away the piece of paper I jotted them down on and I don’t have the holder anymore! But I’ll make another soon and post them.) and came up with this.

4×6 Post-it holder with 2 pads inside….

and the inside:

supplies: Simplicity papers by Fancy Pants; daisy crazy prima flowers; glue dots; A Muse twinkle stickers; chocolate chip cardstock; 2 Target post it pads; and L’il Davis chipboard alpha for tracing the letters.

And that’s it! I think it turned out really sweet….the post-it pad was simple, but useful. And the frame is not quite so washed out in person, but nice and soft….perfect for a baby girl!
