The release party starts at 7 pm Friday night! Not too much longer! My sneak peek today is of Melanie Muenchinger’s new animal set: Cuddles & Hugs! It’s really really cute - and I don’t even like animals! But first I have a little mini tutorial on how to line up words for the ribbon tag dies from Spellbinders.
For my card, I wanted to use two sentiments from Melanie’s set. This is how I got them lined up for the die.
Ribbon Tag Dies Tutorial - using more than one word/sentiment
First I set the die on my cardstock and lightly traced inside it with a pencil.
Remove the die and you are left with the area you will have available when it is punched out.
I put the first sentiment (hugs and smiles) on a block and stamped it in the upper left corner of my “box”. Then I put the second sentiment on the block (across the miles - a card for my nieces in China) and stamped it in the lower right corner of my “box”. You could place them both on the block and stamp them at once if you wanted. I just found this easiest to utilize the tag space well.
This leaves you with the sentiment all stamped. Then erase the pencil lines. This is why it important to trace lightly - that way you can fully remove the pencil lines.
I then placed the die where I wanted it around the sentiment and used a small piece of scotch tape to hold it in place. Then I ran it through my cuttlebug! That’s it! Perfectly aligned and spaced sentiment!
And here’s the finished card!

Very cute card, Emily.
I no longer live in the state where I grew up so the sentiment is one I would frequently use on a card.
