Odd combo, huh?

Well we are visiting family for Spring Break and during that I’ve visited both my brother and sister at their respective colleges.  It’s weird to come home and not have them be here now since they are away at school.  It was fun taking the boys to see their dorms/houses.  Especially since my sister goes to the college Matthew and I met at.  And since my sister is Greek, I decided to make a little something for her.

These letters were ordered from some wood manufacturing place, I got a few different sizes to make things for her with….this set is about 3 inches tall.

I started by painting them with Making Memories acrylic paints.  Then I used some Cat’s Eye Chalk inks to stamp swirls from the BasicGrey Two Scoops swirlie set.  After that I sprayed them with Plaid Acrylic Sealant and attached magnets to the back.  I figured she could either use them as magnets or put some sticky stuff on them and hang them on her wall.  I think she liked them!

And also Andy recently did a project at school and I figured this was the perfect time to break out my Cricut Expressions and give it a whirl.  The boys LOVED it….they were very impressed with the entire process – and I must say, Andy’s project was one of the nicest looking!  I can definitely see many uses for this in the future and now I think I might have to look up some more cartridges, lol!

I used the alpha cartridge that came with the machine for this one.   I think I need to pick up that little scraper tool though!  I also thought I’d mention a coupon code for Scrapbookpal – they have TONS of cricut things there, as well as loads of other crafty supplies, and they have super fast shipping and totally reasonable prices!  This code expires 3/20/09 – sorry for the short notice, I was emailed it and forgot to share.  I’ll see if  can locate another one next week.
