April 4th, 2007 at 12:53 pm Happy Birthday for the 17th - I agree, birthday’s should be milked for all they are worth! I’m looking for a new paper cutter/trimmer, so my question is - what’s you favourite and why? Also, how about a tutorial on the smooching technique you used on your RIW card - a visual would be great! Happy Birthday!
So congratultions Jo and yes, I can do that tutorial on roses in winter - if you really want one! As for the trimmer, I am always on the hunt for the perfect trimmer. Currently I use the older style black Fiskars trimmer. I’ve tried several and haven’t found a perfect one. I want it small (I don’t want one that takes up too much table space) and precise. Right now, I just replace that Fiskars one once a year (the groove seems to get funky about that time). I’ll let you know if I ever find the best one!
Now I’ve got some little goodies to share with you. I made these for part of my Secret Sister gift for the Losties on SCS. I drew Janine’s name and made alot of different monogram things for her. The first was a pressboard monogram letter from Michaels. I covered it with Basic Grey Blush paper (using mod podge) then I used Making Memories acrylic paint. I put primas and ribbons at the top. I hope she liked it!
One of the other things I made was this small paint can. You can find a tutorial I did on this can here. Iused Basic Grey Pheobe papers and a Li’l Davis monogram letter. It was filled with packs of mini brads and Dove chocolate eggs. There will be another tutorial soon with a paint can using mod podge. If you haven’t seen it yet, there is a whole page of my tutorials (blog and SCS) here on my site.

I’d like to second the request for a “smooshing” tutorial. I tried one after seeing your card and it didn’t come out as full as yours.
