Goody Winner and frames

Okay, I used the random.org to generate a winner and this is who it chose!

Cathy Says:

Wow what a fun and creative way to give sweet blog goodies away. My SU demo went beyond the call of duty when I had brain surgey. She called me in advance before class to see if I need something special for class. I haven’t seen or met a Stamper that didn’t have a big heart.

So Cathy, please email me (emily@emilygiovanni.com) and let me know your address!

I do have to say, this is one of the most fun and uplifting ways to give a prize!  I really enjoyed reading all your stories of generosity.  There are some really amazing, generous souls out there!

And something to share with you….for Alex and Adam’s teacher appreciation gifts, I decorated some of those Target $1 frames.  I think they turned out pretty cute!  It’s also the beginnings of my paper challenge for this week.  Since I did something larger like two frames, I decided I’d use two sheets this week.  I love Chatterbox, but I just don’t reach for it as often as I used to.  For a lot of altering projects, the thinner paper is harder for me to work with.  But I used it on these frames.  They are just the turquoise $1 frames with the Chatterbox paper mod podged on.  The edges were sanded and then it was sprayed with Plaid sealant. I used red liner tape to adhere the ribbon.  Mini brads were put in the centers of the primas and they were stuck on with glue dots.  They seemed to really like them this morning!

So what do you think of my new header?  If you can’t see anything different, hit refresh a few times and it’ll change.  Kimberly designed it yesterday…..

Super cute frames Emily! That Chatterbox paper is just gorgeous! I’m sure that the recipients just loved it.

I have a question for you regarding sanding. I feel like all that I am doing when I sand a project (most recent project was a BIA mini coaster book) is that I am smooshing down the paper along the side vs sanding it off. I am using either the SU sanding block or the BG file kit, and both seem to give me the same result. Am I just not putting enough time into it (i.e. should I see immediate results after a swipe or two) or am I just not doing it correctly?

    TIA!

    Linda
