Tip Week: Day Two

So here’s my tip for today! You know how I talk about Mono Multi so much….how awesome it is, blah blah blah. Well, it really truly is the Best Glue Ever! I often get asked how I use it, so my tip for today is on how to use Mono Multi – or at least, how I use it!

I use only the smaller end. I run one line of glue around the edge of the cardstock about 1/8 of an inch in. That’s it. Seriously, just that much will stick well enough that it will tear your cardstock to take it apart. I love that! I get mine at ScrapbookPal because they have the best price I have ever seen. They sell it for 1.99, free shipping over $25. I haven’t been able to beat that price! I usually ask around at my classes and order as a group. I also use this glue at all my classes….and I can get away with ordering about once a year! So that’s my tip of the day!

And I thought I’d show y’all what I managed to pick up at the Convention this weekend (And a HELLO to all the ladies that stopped by to say Hi!) I didn’t get to shop too much (this is probably a good thing, lol!) but I did manage to get a few things.

This is what I picked up from the ScrapbookPal booth (I had no idea they did conventions, but apparently they go to a lot. Their prices are the same at the show as they are online.) I love those quickie glue pens – pinpoint accuracy for your glittering needs, lol! I got a pack of two of the black glaze pens and Julie and I split it. I had never really been interested in those until I got a card that used one…..wow, looks like it’s been embossed in black and it was just traced with that pen! Can’t wait to try that! And last, a cool piercing template. I haven’t gotten that out yet either, but I am hoping to be able to use the regular piercers with it instead of the straight pin you have to use with the Ornare templates. I’ll let you know how that turns out….it also appears to be the width of a whole card too.

Here are the fab Primas I picked up at the Doodliedoo booth – who wouldn’t want to get paid in primas??! I mean, I was helping out to help…….the primas were just a bonus! (Thank you Julie and April!!) I finally got my hands on some of those sprites! Can’t wait to give those a whirl! And a little Basic Grey Oh baby! ribbon as well.

I snagged this at the Heidi Swapp booth. (Her people were SOO nice and helpful to us! Really really nice, can’t say enough about how friendly they were. Some stores can be not so friendly to other vendors, but they were really great helping the Doodliedoo girls out since it was their first convention.) They were selling these vertical storage files for $10 on the last day (and yes, that included all folders and dividers too!!) What a steal! I didn’t really ‘need’ another one…..but I am sure I could find some papers to fill it, lol!

The Li’l Davis booth had lots of good things. I love their chipboard alphas……not that I actually use the letters. But I love to trace them and cut them out to use on post it note holders, etc. So I got two more ‘fonts’ for tracing! They had their chipboard alphas for $5. And the paints were $1. They had lots of other good chipboard, etc, but I controlled myself!

So that’s what I picked up! I also got the Creative Memories personal trimmer (that guillotine style one) for trimming pics and fine edges. I haven’t gotten to play with that yet either, but I’ll let you know how I like it. I’ve wanted it for awhile, but I have never been to a CM party. Since they had a booth there, I figured I better get one since I have no idea when I’d get another opportunity!

ok, Color Challenge tomorrow! I am not posting it early because SCS will be down for maintenance tonight anyway. Night!

A little while back you had a post on how awesome the Multi glue is, and how much you loved it, so I thought, what the heck I’ll get a bottle, and try it out. Well… I just want to say, IT”S AWESOME!!! and I can’t believe I waited so long to try it. Thanks Emily.

  • Looks like you had a fun shopping day, I will have to try out the Multi glue, sounds great.

  • Wow Emily! thanks for all the tips. I will have to try out the multi glue and the glue in a fine tip..Have a wonderful day! chris

  • Thanks for sharing your goodies!! You are going to love the CM trimmer. I have had mine for 7 years and it’s still as sharp as the day I got it. I use a lil wax paper in there once in awhile to resharpen it, but it’s so handy! Esp. for pictures….less wear and tear on your trimmer.

Emily, your tip on the glue is perfect timing! I have some coming from GinaK, and now I’ll know what to do with it. Looks like you had fun shopping; good idea about tracing around the fonts of the chipboard. Thanks for your great blog, and I hope you are feeling better.

I hated this glue when I first started using it (it was a requirement for a DT I was on) But now I love it!!! I couldn’t live without it!!!! It works really well with my “screw it just glue it” philosophy of scrapbooking:)

I just discovered this glue myself thanks to Trudee writing up an article about it. I figure “if all my favorite stampers use it (present company included) it has to be good! Looks like you had a fun time shopping! Can’t wait to see what you make with all your new goodies!

I am here, too, singing the praises of Mono glue thin thread. I Emily’s suggestion to a crop this weekend, and showed everyone what I was going to try (afterall, Emily did it….hehehe). It worked perfectly. Thank goodness I have several bottles on hand.

    Thanks Emily,

    Hi Emily!
Just wanted to say thanks for the Mono Multi recommendation here. I picked some up yesterday and LOVE it 🙂 I was making the SP Date Reminder books and needed something that was going to really secure the edges, but not be all goopy. I love this glue 🙂 Gonna have to order some the site you recommended.

Thanks so much for the tutorials & great tips – you ROCK!!

  • […] Here’s a little tutorial pic on how I use the stuff – a little goes a LONG way!  {Click HERE!} […]

    Hi Emily,
I just found your blog. It is awesome. I found a similar product to your Tombo Momo Multi called DAP ONESTIK2. The bottle is shaped the same, even has the little green tip for the small applications. It is permanent or repositionable and acid free. Originally I found it at LOWE’s on clearance but a couple of weeks ago, I found it in the Dollar Tree in the Housewares/tools area for $1! HTH!

    Thanks for your great tutorials!
