Father’s Day and Swords….

What did you do for Father’s Day? We went to Medieval Times. Talk about corny – but the boys had a BLAST!

You can view this to give you a good idea of what it’s like, lol! (thanks for sharing that with me Stacy!!)

It was really more of a birthday thing for my two summer babies, but it was a good time to go. My Dad came along as did my nephew. The boys got lovely foam swords (after much deliberation, we decided these were least likely to cause much damage, lol!). They waved their flags for the Blue Knight and loved that I encouraged them to yell as loud and as much as they wanted. After that encouragement, they really got into it. Unfortunately, our knight lost. Oh well, maybe next time!

Also, I thought I would share another card done with the large Fancy Pants stamps. You can see tips on how to do that here.

Supplies: Fancy Pants Bella Brush, SU letterpress alpha, TAC sentiment; kraft and elegant eggplant cardstock; eggplant and white versamagic dew drops; purple velvet ricrac; dimensionals; stampamajig; and sponge.

I love that TAC set of sentiments, but I cannot get them straight! I hate that! It seems like they are just curved or something. Guess I’ll have to fiddle with them some more. I am loving acrylic stamps and I will always love wood-mounted rubber. However, unmounted rubber is harder to use for me.

So, the very last day of Tips Week is today! I have a tutorial on my current favorite technique coming up. And since it’s the last day – I thought I’d make it even better and do a Two Part ending to the week. Perhaps even a Blog Goody to celebrate the end of Tips Week….hmmm, I’ll have to see what I can come up with. So in the next few days you get a Two Part tutorial, the Color Challenge, and a giveaway! Check back to see all that!

  • I’m glad that you all had fun. I haven’t been to Medieval Times in years but it was always fun when we went.

I totally CASED your father’s day card for a card for dh 🙂 Thanks for sharing your ideas. I have a hard time with non girly cards and was itching for a reason to use my Fancy Pants Pollen Dust flourishes.

  • Great card, sorry your knight lost, but the important thing is you had fun, right?

Oh my gosh, Emily! That is one of the funniest film clips I have seen! I laughed my head off! Was that wench, by any chance, Janeane Garofalo? Oh my gosh, how funny. I’m so glad your boys had a great time and you all had a wonderful Father’s Day.

  • How fun! Three boys with foam swords? It’s still dangerous! LOL!

  • Looks like a good time. I love the card – great colors and I really like the sentiment over the letters. I have a block with gridlines that I use to line up long text stamps. Don’t know if that helps.

    Lucky Boys!
Great card; thanks for sharing it all!
