SO many hugs to you Emily!!! I was up/restless during the night, and your family actually crossed my mind. I sent prayers of safety and comfort to you all.

Thinking of you this morning Emily! Just know the thoughts and prayers of many go with you and your sis and family as you all go through this transition.

Take a deep breath, smile, and be thankful that we are blessed with the capabilities of email, the phone, and tex messaging.

    Sending a hug your way,

    Joycee

Oh, how you’ll miss your little family; but as Joycee says, email is wonderful. My DD and SIL were “around the world” for almost a year but the emails kept me sane.

I prayed for Kimberly and her family this morning. I woke up super early and couldn’t go back to sleep, then I remember she was leaving today so I prayed for a safe trip for them. I know you will miss them sooo much…

Emily, I am so sad for you. I don’t know what I would do if my sister moved to China! As soon as you hear that she has made it there save, let us all know. I will be praying for safe travel for them today. Isn’t it wonderful that we have sisters that are so special to us?

Your post is perfect. Good thing there is internet, etc. so you can stay connected every single day. Hang in there!! (((hugs)))

    Awwww, my friend Em. I know this is not a fun day for you but God loves ya and we do too. Maybe tomorrow can be pink Tuesday!!! {{{HUGS}}}

  • Thinking of you and Kimberly and both of your families. Hugs!

  • ***hugs to you, Emily!!! The one piece of advice I can give you is to invest in a webcam! My husband was stationed in Korea for the first year of our marriage, and we had webcam chats every day. It was wonderful to see him each day, and made things a lot easier to deal with. Plus, with instant messaging and many phone companies now offering wonderful deals to call home (I get free calls from here in England to the States), you will have many opportunities to chat with Kimberley and her family. 🙂

Emily- Here are some hugs from Ohio. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I agree with everyone I would not know what to do if someone that I loved moved to China. It is a good thing that we have e-mail and texting. If you anything please call or e-mail.

Awww Emily!! I am so sad for you. I don’t have a sister, but when my brother moved to NYC (although it was still in the USA) I was heartbroken! I really like the webcam idea. I hope you are able to chat as much as humanly possible!

  • Emily,
I know how you are feeling. After Hurricane Katrina my sister lost her house and moved with her family to Baton Rouge. They are now 80 miles away. I know that is not as far as China but oh how I miss just picking up and driving over to her house to just be with her and her family on a whim. Good Luck.

  • Emily,
    Many {{{{HUGZ}}}} to all….

Emily, you’re making me cry and Mondays are bad enough. Here’s a big hug (:) I like the suggestions given to you regarding webcam etc. You’ll still feel apart of them.
I’m also praying for safety for them and joy for you all. (:)

Praying for you and your whole family as you adjust to this change—The Father knows your heart—and he will bring you comfort~

    Emily,

    Praying for you!

I sat here staring at this blank comment box for awhile, cuz I just don’t know that anything I say will make you feel a whole lot better today. May you simply find small comfort in all of the warm thoughts shared here. We’re all thinking of you.

  • Oh Emily,
I feel your pain! My son is serving a mission in Brazil for two years starting July 31! I only have one week with my son. They only allow phone calls at Christmas and Mother’s Day! We can write letters and I think after the first two months, We will be able to email once a week. I am having a hard time letting go even though it will be the opportunity of a life-time for him. He is a good boy and I wouldn’t want him anywhere else. Serving the Lord is a pretty big commitment and I look up to him for his choices.
Hang in there and I will too! Your Sister is awesome and I love that you have such a close relationship!

sending hugs to you today. My sis moved to Hawaii and I do miss her, but we talk frequently thanks to Skype.( free computer to computer calling via a webcam.) And it is free internationally too- I talk to my cousin in Amsterdam from time to time. Check it out (sorry I dont have the link in my post). There is a charge if you use your computer to call a landline, but I’ve never done that.

big huge hugs to you sweetie, I agree on the getting a webcam, they don’t cost much now and are so great to be able to see who you are talking to, you can talk to her, and the girls and they can see you. You can also talk free with ventrillo and through like yahoo, msn and such, get yourself a headset with a microphone, they are soooo worth it, they are pretty cheap too, like $14. Know that we are all praying for Kimberly’s safety and your peace of mind.

  • Allison

Oh gosh, huge hugs to you Emily!

  • lois lane

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers today! Hang in there!!!

  • stampinhappy

    Emily,

*HUGS* You are in my thoughts and prayers today. I know what you are going though. It is hard to have family living across the sea in such a different country. I’m here if you need me.

  • My heart is breaking for you!

  • kathy

Sisters… there is nothing like them.

    My Sister
She knows the things I dream of,
    the places that I’ve been,
she accepts the person I’ve become,
    she’s a very special friend.
She’s always been there for me
    no matter where I roam,
    and whenever we’re together,
    it’s just like being home.

    Emily,
I’m sitting here crying because I could just feel your loss as I looked at thata black space…..I know your sis will be in China, but to not get to be together is so lonely sometimes. My sister and I live far apart and we miss each other badly. But, God has made ways for us to see each other quite a bit lately and for that we are grateful. You are in my prayers.

Em, while I can’t think of a thing to say right at this moment to make things better, I promise in the coming weeks to be there on the thread and say something silly or goofy or give you a reason to laugh with or at me. And it that moment your spirit will be lifted. I hope. 🙂

Hugs babe–my heart is with you. Safe travels to Kim and her family!

Got goosebumps when I scrolled down and saw that. I went to bed saying prayers for y’all last night. Let us know when you hear that they arrived safely. Love ya sweetie!!

  • Malissa

I thought of you early this morning and got tears in my eyes. I know you miss her. But look into your heart and remember all the times you spent together and those to come. HUGS!

  • Theresa Grdina

I am so sorry Emily. It has to be very difficult for you. I will put you on my prayer list that you won’t hurt so bad…

  • Emily, I hope that this day does not leave you with a hole too large to bear. My prayers and thoughts are with you and Kimberly as I know it is so hard for both of you. It will get better…I promise. Lots of hugs to you. Janet in NC

  • Oh, Emily… my heart aches for you. I can’t imagine how tough it was to bring Kimberly and her family to the airport. Hang in there girl! Sending lots of hugs your way….

  • Becky

  • Cathy Bastieri

So Sorry! Hugs to you and your family! cathy

  • I am sad for you but was hoping I could stash hubby in luggage for another summer visit to China. I need to get stuff done and I am a night person-so here I am typing instead of trashing the house.

You know, China is not that fa away to visit anymore-none stop from Detroit. and cell phone calls are cheaper too. It wont be long and you will fall into a comfort zone and work out the distance. get one of those video cameras for the internet.

  • BEStefan

    Hang in there. It will get better and you and Kimberly will find a way to be close, even though you are miles apart. {{hugs}}

  • Thinking of you and God Bless you.
