I’ve got another set of baby onesies - both my younger two have expectant teachers this year and both are due in December!  So I made a little set of onesies for each of them.  But first - let me remind you!

Now back to the onesies….I have a girl set and a boy set to share.  Some of them were the same, so I only photographed the different ones.  I love the Cuteasaurus stamp from CHF and had to do that in both.  So for the girl, I just made it a pink dinosaur.  That works, right?  Isn’t every baby a cuteasaurus?!?

My lesson this time - spring rain is a really light ink.  Even on white cardstock - an outline image is too light in that color.  I can’t wait for a darker blue in the palette inks.  And I wish there was a way to color them in.  Perhaps masking the outside of the image and sponging?  I don’t want to do all that though, lol!  I’m a lazy stamper!  Anyway, that’s all for now!

By now, y’all know how much I love monogrammed cards.  I think a monogrammed gift set of cards is useful, elegant, and personal.  But on the giving side - they are inexpensive, simple and easy to coordinate colors.  So all around a great gift!  Here are some I made last week - these are teacher Christmas gifts, can you believe I am starting already?!?  I sure can’t!  We’ll see if I get any more done before the day I have to give them….honestly I’d be shocked to not be up until 2am working on them the night before!

So here’s what you need to do these….

Monogram stamps - I get mine {HERE}…there are tons of styles and they are simple and easy to use.

12×12 patterned paper - either double sided with coordinating patterns/solids or two sheets that will work together.

some type of ribbon - I prefer 3/4 in satin ribbon myself.

Nestabilities or punches - I prefer the  classic circle nestabilities, but you can use anything for this part.

How I cut the cardstock:

I choose the paper I want for the bottom half of the card and cut a 12 x 3 1/4.  Then cut that into 3 1/4 x 4 in pieces.  This will get you 3 ‘bottoms’ from one strip.  (On the cards I’m showing here, I cut them into 3 x 4 in pieces…but I prefer the bigger ‘bottom’ card.)

For the tip portion of the card I cut a 12 x 2 in strip.  Then cut that into 2 x 4 in pieces.  You’ll get 3 ‘tops’ from one strip.  (Again, on the cards I’m showing here, I cut them into 2 1/4 x 4 in pieces…)

And here’s what they look like…..

Well - in the spirit of Thanksgiving I just wanted to give thanks for all the blessings I have had this year.  I am thankful for my family most of all.

I am also thankful for those of you who have stuck around during the last few months as my posts have been further and further apart.  Sometimes life just gets in the way, huh?  Anyway, I have a little something for you today - this is for the digi scrappers out there.  I’ve got something else coming soon for the paper crafters - and I promise it’s good!

So I know this doesn’t really have much to do with Thanksgiving, but I do have a reason behind posting this now.  I have a friend that has been coming to my Classes for  - well, forever!  She came to them when my sister Kimberly taught them and she’s come to mine since I took over for Kimberly a few years ago.  My friend has been in the process of adopting a baby for the last few years.  And of course we all ask about it when we get together for class - I have a pretty regular group that comes.  Anyway, I am just so thankful that they are with their baby boy right now.

When I was putting together a baby shower gift for her I thought about stamping on some onesies.  I dug around my stamp room and found all the ones that I thought would work on a baby onesie.  I really wanted to do something related to adoption and I got the idea to stamp a strawberry on it and then stamp the words “hand picked” underneath.  I used my JustRite alphas to spell it out - I think next time I’ll stamp the words first and then the strawberry…but overall I think it turned out pretty cute!

After stamping them and using the heat gun to heat set the ink, I rolled them up and tied a ribbon around them.

How easy and adorable is that?!?  I think the cuteasaurus is my favorite!  I did learn a few things while doing this though…..

1.  Do NOT overheat your image while heat setting it.  It is possible to scorch the fabric!  If it starts to yellow a bit - you’ve done too much!

2. Do NOT use too light of an ink color.  I used the Spring Rain blue from PTI and it did not show up very well at all.  I had to go over it with a blue copic marker (yes, those can wash too and not come off) to make it show up, but that feathered a bit too much and now it’s just hard to read.

I slipped some cardboard inside the onesie before I stamped just in case the ink bled through.  I used Palette hybrid inks so that they are entirely washable.  And I love that with the alphas from JustRite, you can customize it so easily!  Totally adorable and personalized!

So I’ve got a few things for y’all today.  First up is the Color Challenge.  I chose a fall-ish combo in honor of Thanksgiving this week.  You can find more information on CC194 {HERE}.  I didn’t get a chance to make a card for this color combo yet….I’ve been busy working on something I’ll share tomorrow.  And also several cards my mom ordered - since my blog is her personal store and we’re going up for Thanksgiving, I was trying to get them all finished before we go.  We’ll see if I get all of them done!

Welcome to another Sunday (or Monday) edition of “Stuff I Like”.  You can find all the previous editions {here}.  Today I want to talk about Spica Atyou Glitter Pens by Copic.  They are fun, easy to use, quick drying and sparkly!

I love these!  They are really great for adding just a touch of sparkle to whatever you are working on.  They come in a variety of colors.  I prefer the 12 pack as it comes in a clear *wallet* to keep them contained.  I’m all about containment!  When you write with these, they do have a bit of colored ink as well as glitter.  So you could use them alone or on top of anything you have just stamped or written.  They also dry very quickly.

I prefer these to glitter because I do not like messy things.  I hate having gritty embossing powder or bits of glitter all over after I complete a project.  (Not that you’d know this by looking at my terribly messy stamp room!)  I didn’t bother trying to get a picture of these in use…..while it would show the colors, it’s just too hard to photograph glitter and sparkle!  These are more subtle than actual glitter, but trust me - in person they have a lot of sparkle!  What girl doesn’t like sparkle?!?  Especially sparkle that isn’t messy!

I got mine at Gina K Designs - I prefer them in the set with the wallet as she sells them because they are less likely to get misplaced that way!
